What to write about
-
A number looks wrong
The most useful mail this site gets. Send the keystrokes in order and the answer you expected, and the fix ships with a test that keeps it fixed.
Email about this -
Something is broken
A key that does nothing, a layout that clips on your phone, a page that will not load. Tell us the device and browser and we can usually reproduce it.
Email about this -
A calculator or guide is missing
If a worksheet you need is not here, or a guide would have saved you an hour, say which one. Requests shape what gets built next.

Five lines that turn a report into a fix
Most reports about a wrong answer turn out to be a register left over from the previous problem, and the keystroke list is what shows that in seconds. Include these and there is usually no need for a second email.
- The page you were on — the full URL.
- The keys you pressed, in order, including 2ND and CPT.
- The number the calculator showed, and the number you expected.
- Where your expected number comes from, if it is a textbook or exam answer.
- Your browser and device, for anything visual or unresponsive.
Please do not send
Personal financial details. Account numbers, balances, statements or
anything identifying about your finances. Reproduce the problem with round numbers instead
— 100000 PV makes the same point as your real mortgage.
Requests for advice. We cannot tell you whether to take a loan, buy a bond or accept a deal, and we will not try. This is an educational tool; see the disclaimer.
Exam questions during an exam. For obvious reasons. Also note that no online calculator is permitted in the CFA, CFP or FRM exam room — check your provider's current calculator policy before test day.
Quicker than email
Most questions are already answered: the homepage FAQ covers signs, clearing and exam rules, the guides walk through whole problems keystroke by keystroke, and each calculator page carries a worked example under the form.
